How events are decided
Every event states what decides it before it opens. That rule does not change.
Bitcoin up or down
When the window opens we record the price to beat. When it closes we take the average Coinbase BTC/USD price over the last 60 seconds, weighted by time. Higher than the price to beat, Up wins. The same or lower, Down wins.
Every other event
The event page carries its own rule, and where a public source decides it, the page names that source. You can read both before you put any money in.
What you get back
If you are right you get back more than you put in. If you are wrong you get back nothing.
How much depends on the chance. For every KSh 100 you put in:
| The chance | You get back |
|---|---|
| 10% | KSh 965 |
| 25% | KSh 388 |
| 50% | KSh 196 |
| 75% | KSh 132 |
| 90% | KSh 111 |
What you get back includes the KSh 100 you put in. Ten times the money in is ten times the money back. Put in KSh 10 on a 50% chance and about KSh 19.61 comes back. Put in KSh 100,000 and about KSh 196,078 comes back.
A lower chance pays more because fewer people think it will happen. The fee is already taken off every figure above.
If an event cannot be decided
It is voided. Both sides are settled at one stated price, and the reason is recorded against the event. Nobody at Elopis can settle an event without that record.
What this costs
One fee, and only when you take a price someone else is offering. See what it costs. How often our prices have been right is on accuracy.
This is real money and real risk. Only stake what you can afford to lose. See responsible play.
